How is this different from ChatGPT or Claude?

Generic AI chat tools have no memory of your garden, no diary, and no awareness of your weather, zone, or history. GrowLog AI ties every conversation to a specific crop and bed, attaches local weather, and saves it all so your past seasons inform your future ones.
Do I need to set up a Google Sheet?

Your diary is stored in a Google Sheet, so you always own your data. If you sign up with a Gmail account, no action is required — GrowLog AI creates and connects the spreadsheet for you automatically. If you sign up with a non-Gmail email, you’ll need a Google account to host the sheet (free to create), and we’ll walk you through setting one up and connecting it during onboarding. Either way, you never have to edit the sheet by hand.
Why Google Sheets and not a built-in database?

Because your garden history matters too much to be locked inside an app. Storing the diary in your own Google Sheet means it’s portable, exportable, viewable on any device, and yours forever — even if you ever stop using GrowLog AI.
How many crops can I track?

Up to 20 crops per garden, with unlimited conversations and unlimited history. You can also have multiple gardens if you grow in more than one location.
What does GrowLog AI cost?

GrowLog AI is free during early-access beta — no credit card required. We’ll announce pricing before anything changes, and beta users will get the best long-term pricing.
Will it work on my phone?

Yes. GrowLog AI is a web app that works on any modern phone, tablet, or computer. It’s designed to be fast and easy to use one-handed in the garden, even with gloves on. A native mobile app is on the roadmap.
Does GrowLog AI know my local weather?

Yes. GrowLog AI pulls live weather and historical conditions from Open-Meteo using your location, and attaches it to every diary entry — so patterns like mildew risk, heat stress, or watering needs become visible over time.
Can I track herbs, flowers, or cannabis?

Yes. Any crop you grow at home is supported, including herbs, flowers, fruit, and where legal, home cannabis cultivation. Each crop gets its own private thread and diary tab.
Is my garden data private?

Yes. Your garden, your conversations, and your diary entries are private to your account. We never sell your data and never share it with third parties.
When will the mobile app be available?

The web app works great on mobile today and is our primary focus. A dedicated mobile app is on the roadmap — beta users will be first to know when it launches.
